Federal Revenue Tax Auditors go on strike in the face of budget cuts
Since August 24th, the Tax Auditors of the Federal Revenue have vigorously resumed their mobilization initiatives in response to budget adjustments. In accordance with the guidelines of the National Directorate, the 24th and 25th of August witnessed the Primary Zone engaging in an operation of absolute compliance, while the Secondary Zone prepared for a period of IT inactivity, popularly known as “blackout”.
On the calendar, today, August 29th, in which the Primary Zone maintains its operations at standard levels and the Secondary Zone begins a strike that, for now, has no specific end date.
The motivation behind this most recent wave of strikes lies in the worrying prospect of a reduction in the contribution of resources to the efficiency bonus, a benefit approved by the government at the beginning of June. This imminent cut in resources finds its origin in budget changes by the Ministry of Finance.
Until the last day of August, precisely the 31st, the government has a deadline to present the Annual Budget Bill to the National Congress.
